Lilac-purple flowers appear in summer on branch like stems reaching up to 2m.
Grows best in a sheltered, sunny position in well drained soil, perfect for adding height to a border or planted to soften a fence or a wall.
Works well planted with other perennials and grasses and the flowers are popular with pollinators.
Garden care: Mulch around the base of the plant in Autumn to help to protect against frost, cut back dead seed heads in early spring to encourage new growth.
May need some support in more exposed areas.
